I don’t have a daughter, but I do have two granddaughters. Someday, I’m going to have to sit them down and apologize for the misogynistic world they now find themselves in. It is indeed a man’s world, and it sucks.
Not that a woman’s world would be better, but it would certainly be different. I’d settle for a person’s world, at least it would be a fairer one.
So, this is part of why I’m writing TGWCTE: it’s about a world, or more accurately, a galactic milieu, that is not only from a female viewpoint, but one that completely lacks a male aspect (more on that here and in the book itself).
It’s a challenge of writing an alien, interstellar culture, but with the added challenge/benefit of presenting something that is approachable, although maybe foreign to the reader– a female bent and perspective.
